i ran across this bizarre video (oh, and since it’s MSN you obviously have to use IE to view it) on friday. apparently down in the florida everglades they’re having problems with pet pythons getting loose and preying on the native wildlife.. like the alligators. not just the *baby* alligators, but the fully-grown adult ones… yeah. some wildlife biologist came across the results of a match pitting snake and alligator: the python swallowed the gator, but then apparently burst open (!) like a pinata full of… well.. alligator. so the snake’s bloodlust consumed both creatures in the end.

anyway, i thought it was interesting… it would’ve been sweet to actually witness the event, as opposed to merely viewing the aftermath. (perhaps i should rename my ’science’ category to ‘when animals go WILD!!’ or something similar, as that’s been the extent of my entries thus far
